Höfner have announced a new range of specialGold Label Edition Violin Beatles bassguitars.

The new collection features a striking array of colours and insome cases unusual pickup combinations, including a 3 pickupbass.

The new Hofner line is intended to appeal to a whole newgeneration of bass players who appreciate the 'unique qualities ofa Hofner bass but would like it in a different finish to theoriginal sunburst.

The new line, which have all been hand-made in Germany, areavailable in Raven Black, Dawn Purple, and Royal Blue indual-Toaster configuration, Party Pink in dual-Stapleconfiguration, and Royal Blue.

The 3-pickup Royal Blue version features two 1960-style Toasterpickups in the neck position and a Staple pickup ('63 - '67 era) inthe bridge.

Höfner says:

"This unique pickup combination offers the player both theearlier "Close Space" sound asscocaited with the Cavern model aswell as the later (1962 onwards) "Normal Spaced" sound as from thefamous models from 1963/64."
