Johnny Cash "Lost" Album to Be Released Next Year -

Christmas has come early for Johnny Cash fans, well kind of, with the announcement that 'lost' album, 'Out Among The Stars,' is set to be released in March of next year.

The album was recorded during his time with Columbia Records in the early 1980s and was all but completely forgotten before his switch to Mercury Records in 1986.

'Out Among The Stars' is said to fill the gap between 1983′s Johnny 99, his 69th release, and 1985′s Rainbow, his 70th.

The unheard tapes were discovered by Cash's son John Carter Cash in 2012 and include Johnny Cash duets with both Waylon Jennings and his wife June Carter Cash.

Who said of the 'forgotten' album:

“They never threw anything away – they kept everything in their lives. They had an archive that had everything in it from the original Johnny Cash Show to random things like a camel saddle, which was a gift from a prince of Saudi Arabia.”

The 12-track LP will be released on March 25 via Columbia/Legacy Records.
