Mastodon Added to 2013 Edition of Download Festival-

Mastodon will join IronMaiden, Rammstein andSlipknot at the 2013 edition of Download Festival, ithas been announced.

The Atlanta prog-metal outfit, who released their latest album'The Hunter' in 2011, were confirmed byorganisers after a Twitter contest to get one message re-tweeted5,000 times. As soon as the target was met,Mastodon was revealed by Andy Copping, whotweeted:

"5,000 has been reached! Mastodon are confirmed for the mainstage Saturday under Maiden, QOTSA, Motorhead, Alice InChains."

Asides from the aforementioned acts Mastodonwill also join Queens of the Stone Age,Bullet For My Valentine, 30 Seconds ToMars, Motorhead and The GaslightAnthem next June.
