Blabbermouth.com have reportedthat Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick is to sell hispersonal Ibanez Prestige S5470F Red Viking Electric Guitar via eBay. All proceeds of the sale will benefit themusic and art programs, field trips, etc., for the children ofMagnolia Elementary School in Oakdale, California, whereBroderick's niece and nephew attend.
This guitar was used in the recording of "Endgame", thetwelfth studio album by Megadeth. It was released via RoadrunnerRecords on September 9, 2009. "Endgame" was the first albumfeaturing Broderick and he's shown holding this exact guitar in thealbum artwork. The single "Head Crusher" from "Endgame", wasnominated for "Best Metal Performance" at the 52nd annual GrammyAwards. "Endgame" entered The Billboard 200 at No. 9 (marking theband's tenth overall top 10 debut) and reached number 1 on the U.S.Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
