Ritchie Blackmore Couldn't Care for Deep Purple RockHall Nomination -

Ex-Deep Purple guitarist RichieBlackmore has revealed that he won't be present ifthe band are inducted into the Rockand Roll Hall of Fame next year.

The legendary British outfit was recently nominated for thefirst  time despite being eligible for the last twodecades.

However Blackmore, who parted ways with DeepPurple in 1993 following his third spell in the band,insists he couldn't care about the possible, long overdueinduction.

Blackmore told Billboard(via Classic Rock Magazine):

"Personally I couldn't care less.

"I would never go - I'm not really a fan of that stuff.Considering some of the people that are in the Hall of Fame, I'mnot sure if it's a good idea.

"I think our fans seem to care more than I do. They'realways saying, 'You should be in the Hall of Fame.' If I can paythe bills that's all I care about."

Deep Purple were nominated for the 2013 inductioninto the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with ThePaul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic,Deep Purple, Heart, JoanJett and the Blackhearts, Albert King,Kraftwerk, The Marvelettes,The Meters, Randy Newman,N.W.A, Public Enemy,Procal Harum, Rush andDonna Summer.
